NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL

American Academy in Rome One of the leading American overseas centers for independent study and advanced research in the arts and humanities. Offers the Rome Prize fellowship program.
American Classical League An organization that fosters the study of classical languages in the U.S. and Canada. Offers many resources for teachers, a phenomenal job placement site for Latin teachers, an annual meeting and much more.
American Philological Association A society for the study of ancient Greek and Roman languages, literatures, and civilizations in North America.
National Committee for Latin & Greek

 

A good place to find promotional materials to support your Latin program. Includes letters to prevent the closure of a program, a defence of Latin against possible ignorance of guidance counselors, and much more.
National Junior Classical League An organization for high school Latin students.
National Latin Teacher Recruitment Week

 

NLTRW is a joint venture of the American Classical League, CAMWS, and the American Philological Association to insure "...that our Latin, Greek, and Classics pre-college classrooms have the teachers they need." The Week is usually scheduled in March.
Society for the Promotion of Roman Studies An organization in the U.K. for those interested in the study of Rome and the Roman Empire. The Society produces the Journal of Roman Studies.
American Society of Greek and Latin Epigraphy Supports research and teaching of Greek and Latin epigraphy in North America.

REGIONAL

Classical Association of the Middle West and South A regional classics organization covering 31 midwestern, western and southern states and three Canadian provinces.
Committee for the Promotion of Latin
A terrific site to obtain materials that promote the study of Latin. Run by Ginny Lindzey of the Texas Classical Association and chair of CAMWS CPL.
SouthEastern Medieval Association SEMA promotes the study of the Middle Ages for students at all levels. Scholars of all fields of Medieval studies may attend the annual conference.

STATE

South Carolina Foreign Language Teachers Association (SCFLTA) The state organization for teachers and professors of all world languages, including French, Latin, Spanish, and German.

South Carolina Historical Association
Open to anyone in South Carolina who is teaching, writing, and/or studying any period of history.
