Tour de Columbia
The Columbia Running Club coordinates the Tour de Columbia, a series of 22 races during the year
to both promote running for fun and to assist the community by raising
money for the local food bank, children's hospital, and similar organizations.
2004 Rule Changes
The Tour scores races based on 5 year age groups, distributing awards
to the top runners in each age group that have participated in at least
6 races (down from 8 to encourage more winners in each age group!). In
addition, all runners who have participated in at least 8 races will receive
a "participation award" (down from 12 to reward more runners!) for
being a steady supporter of the cause. However, award winners
will need to be a "member in good standing" with the club (i.e. dues paying)
for the 2004 year.
