Graduation Requirements Required for Attending any SC Public College or University

  • English: 4 credits
  • Math must include Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II
  • Lab Science: Must have 3 lab sciences in two different areas (cannot count Physical Science)
  • World Language: 2-3, varies at different schools
  • Social Studies: 3 credits to include U.S. History, Economics, Government, plus one additional credit
  • Academic Electives: 4 credits: Must be taken from at least 3 different fields. One credit must be in fine arts.
    • 9th—10th: 5 credits to include 1 English and 1 Math 10th—11th: 12 credits to include 2 English and 2 Math 11th—12th: projects completing 24 credits including the 17 ˝ required courses by the end of the school year in May-June

      How to earn additional credits

      School-To-Work: students may earn up to 2 credits towards graduation. See Mrs. Giles in E109 jgiles@rnh.richland2.org On-line courses: blackboard. See Richland School District Two web page at www.richland2.org . Click on Virtual High School for information. Student must register with Mrs. Handel. Once the student is registered, he/she goes to the district web site and clicks on Blackboard Learning System to log on. Parents can log on also to monitor the progress of the student. Parents and students use the last 8 digits of the student’s ID and the birth date of the student (use no dashes or slashes i.e. 082091) Summer school: The four high schools consolidate and sponsor one summer school. The location rotates from one of the four high schools to the other so that once every four years each high school hosts summer school. It is the responsibility of the student to provide his/her own transportation. The cost is a minimum of $300.00 per/course. Some courses are offered in the morning from 8-12:15 and others are offered in the PM from 1 to 5 PM. Registration begins in April. Summer school is for six weeks Monday through Friday.
