LATE POLICY

THE POLICY FOR LATE WORK

FOR LATE ASSIGNMENTS

In an effort to encourage responsibility and prevent failure, the staff has developed a policy to address the issue of late work from our students. This policy will apply to all grade levels. It is important that both students and their parents carefully read over and agree to support the policy. Please keep in mind that each teacher may have a separate late policy that addresses their requirements for their subject area.

LONG TERM ASSIGNMENTS

A long term assignment is defined as any assignment given by a  teacher for a period of longer than one week. An example would be projects that takes both research and production such as a group powerpoint presentation.  A student who does not turn in the assignment at the beginning of the class period will receive an F for that assignment.

SHORT TERM ASSIGNMENTS

A short term assignment is defined as any assignment given by a teacher for a period of one week or less. The student needs to talk with the teacher to make the decision as to whether the assignment will be taken or not.

In case of illness or an absence, group and individual projects and long term assignments are still to be turned in on the assigned day.

In order to prevent any unforeseen technical problems, a "print" day by the student should be done in order to have proof of work done should there be technical failure.
